An entire universe related to drug trafficking, on your smartphone
If you've already become hopelessly hooked on the second season of Narcos, the fiction series from Netflix about the life of Pablo Escobar, you may be interested in the mobile game based on the series But it is not the only application available to continue diving into the world and the history of drug trafficking: there are many television series with completely invented stories or directly inspired by mafia and drug lords in different periods and countries.
The application Narco Series, which is available for download on Google Play , is divided into several sections full of content on this topic.
- HD Chapters is a section with episodes of various series and soap operas dedicated to stories of drug traffickers, such as The Queen of the South, Pablo Escobar, the patron of evil or The Lord of the Heavens, among others.
- Corridos: The corrido is a Mexican musical genre that for years has evolved into a subgenre called "narcocorrido." It is a series of songs that narrate the adventures and misfortunes of drug traffickers and people related to the world of drugs in Mexico, most of them based on real events. As a curiosity, it should be mentioned that Arturo Pérez Reverte was inspired by a narcocorrido to write his novel La reina del sur The corresponding musical group, as a sign of gratitude, created the song with the same title from the novel, and which was later adapted for use as opening music in the television series.
- Narco Prensa: This section is a newsroom for different media outlets that collect current affairs on the world of drug trafficking in different countries, although the events that occur in Mexico play a leading role.
- Books: although the list is quite small (there are only four books), the idea of this section is to gather interesting books based or inspired by the world of drug trafficking.Currently there are Pablo's parable by Alonso Salazar, La reina del sur by Arturo Pérez- Reverte, The Power of the Dog by Don Winslow and Kidnapping News by Gabriel García Márquez .
In addition to these sections, the Narco Series application also has a form to contact the developers and send suggestions or requests about new contents or sections in the application.
In any application content you can mark the star-shaped icon (available in the menu in the upper right corner) to save it as a favorite or even download it. So we can, for example, listen to the narcocorridos that we like without an Internet connection or without spending mobile data. All the favorites are available in the same section to facilitate quick access.
