When you start playing Pokémon GO, Professor Willow gives you the option to choose between Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle as starter Pokémon in your adventure Did you know that there is a trick to get that starter Pokémon to be a Pikachu ? We tell you how to do it.
Start your Pokémon GO adventure with Pikachu
The first thing you need to do to start playing Pokémon GO is to download the app for iOS from the Apple App Store, or for Android from the Google Play StoreThe game will ask you to register with an email account and design your trainer character, for which you can choose the color of the eyes and skin, the type of hairstyle, the clothes, etc. You will also need to choose a name for your character in-game.
To be able to get a Pikachu as a starting Pokémon in Pokémon GO, it is important that you do this process outside the home, in a space open where you can move easily. First download the application using a WiFi connection (not via data if you want to avoid surprises on your monthly bill) and then do the registration and initial configuration on the road, wherever you can move
The key is to reject the Pokémon that the game offers you
Professor Willow will give you a few clues (very few, actually) about how the game works and will offer you three Pokémon to choose from as your starting partner on your journey These three Pokémon ”“Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle”“ will appear in little circles on the map, and if you click on one of those circles the screen will be activated to capture it.
If you want a Pikachu, don't click on any of these circles: Walk away from these Pokémon until they disappear They will appear again to force you to choose, and you will have to reject them again by walking away from them up to a total of four times
Finally, you will see that a new circle with a Pikachu appears on the screen, and then it will be time to select it and throw the Pokéball to capture it.
Why do you need a starter Pokémon?
Although in the most classic Pokémon games the choice of our initial friend was essential for the game, in the case of Pokémon GO this process is rather a symbolic choice.Apparently, in the early stages of the game's development, there was no plan to give players a Pokémon, but then the developers changed their minds because it would have been too "cold" to go hunting without having a single Pokémon to accompany you.
To make your starting Pikachu stronger and stronger, you'll need to capture other wild Pikachu and transfer them to Professor Willow so he can send you Pikachu candy. Thanks to these candies you can strengthen and evolve your Pokémon
And in that detail lies precisely the difficulty of the game: although for many the priority is simply to collect all the Pokémon, you will also have the opportunity to fight against other Pokémon in gymsand for that you will need yours to be strong and able to resist attacks.
