Mobile users of Google Maps have been waiting for this possibility for some time. And, to date, the application of maps of Google only allowed you to search for a destination on a route. Something that prevented creating more complex routes where specific stops were planned in different places. Luckily, this has started to change and it is now possible to create routes with several destinations. This is how it's done.
Just access the application Google Maps and search for a first destination. As usual, the application shows that point on the map, being able to choose any type of means of transporte (walking, by bike, public transport or car) to get there . After choosing one, the classic track screen is displayed where you can see the entire track directly on the screen.
This is where you find the novelty that users have been waiting for. And it is that, beyond the origin and destination of the route, there is one more option of destination in a shaded way That is, the possibility of adding a second stop to back
Just click on this shaded option to start writing the address, city, point of interest or desired establishment. In this way the stop is added and the route is shown enlarged directly on the map.
The good thing is that we can do this repeatedly, adding new stops at will without limitations. Each new stop is added to the route, being marked with letters in alphabetical order so that there is no doubt or confusion on the route. In addition, thanks to the three dashes button that appears next to the text box of each destination, it is possible to reposition said stops and restructure the route at will That is, change the order of the stops to get a more efficient, shorter route or simply in the order that the user decides to carry out.
This final route is established by clicking on the button Done From this moment only remains consult the different alternatives directly on the map and, if you decide, use the GPS navigator included in the application Google MapsWith this it is possible to be guided step by step to each stop, in order, without having to recalculate the route or create a new one at each step.
Now, to use this function, you still need to wait for Google to activate it for all users. At the moment it seems that it is doing it through its servers, without having to update the application. Of course, it's always a good idea to keep Google Maps up to date to ensure that this feature will arrive without any problems. To do this, you only have to download its latest version from Google Play Store
To date, this multi-destination routing feature was only available in the web version However, there is a trick to sending this type of route with several stops from the computer to the mobile just by copying the web address of the route.A procedure that we can forget sooner rather than later to do everything comfortably through the mobile.
