The emoticon paellaEmoji is here
The fight has been fierce but, after two years of combat, there will finally be a Emoji emoticon to represent the most typical Valencian gastronomic dish , the paella A drawing that can be used in WhatsApp, on social networks as Twitter, and in any other place where these representations have a place. And it is that it will be at the level of the faces that everyone uses daily in different applications, satisfying the popular demand for being able to talk about this gastronomy classic without having to to write your name.
This is confirmed by the official account of Arroz La Fallera on the social network Twitter, one of the main promoters of the achievement that now is celebrated. Although the initial idea came from the Valencian humorist Eugeni Alemany, it was the support of this brand of rice and the campaign of the agency The President's Wife who have managed to get Unicode to accept the proposal of paellaemoji for the next revision of the collection of Emoji emoticons that can be enjoyed on mobile and other Internet devices and services.
At the moment, the consortium of Unicode, in charge of regulating and standardizing the use of Emoji emoticons, has approved the proposal, which means that it will be added to the current collection of drawings along with others such as pizza, burritos, baguettes , etcAnd it is that in Unicode 9.0, which will be the version that includes paella, there will be 72 new representations of expressions, food, animals, objects and other qualities that users want to use in their conversations. Something that will be made official in the month of June by said consortium.
Of course, this does not mean that we can use the paella emoticon for the month of June. We will have to wait a little longer until the different companies (Apple, Google and Microsoft , among others) create and adapt these new representations to their own collections. And, the differences are notable between the Apple drawings (those seen on WhatsApp) and Google drawings (visible in application Hangouts). A job that will add more waiting time to users who are looking forward to the arrival of paellaemojiAccording to those responsible for this campaign, it is expected that by autumn the emoticon will already be available in the applications and Internet services like WhatsApp, Twitter and other places where it can be used.
The campaign, which began almost as a joke by comedian Eugeni Alemany, received the support of the rice brand La Fallera to try to come true. From here, the project tried to bring the paellaemoji to San Francisco, presenting it (or trying to) in the main technology companies with weight to influence the consortium Unicode After a first setback, the campaign continued to make noise through social networks, where they have managed to get noticed thanks to the help of other brands that have supported the project. The paellaemoji also traveled to Japan to request the approval of the creator of these drawings, Shigetaka KuritaNow, after an adventure of almost two years, they can already celebrate the achievement of the arrival of paella to the collection of emoticons Emoji Of course, users will have to wait a little longer to use it.
