WhatsApp is updated with personalized notifications and "combs"
WhatsApp has received a new update that improves a couple of features of this popular messaging platform. This app incorporates two new minor features that can be very useful. On the one hand, users will now be able to activate the feature of personalized notifications. This function allows us to set a specific tone when we receive messages from one of our favorite contacts.The other function that can give us a lot of play is the ability to mark messages in a conversation as read without having to enter the chat window directly. Undoubtedly, a useful feature if, for example, we are in a group and we don't want to pay attention to the hundreds of messages that tend to accumulate without being read in these cases. Without a doubt, one of the changes that will attract the most attention is the arrival of a new batch of "emojis" or emoticonsthat will allow us to express more complex emotions. We are talking, of course, about those moments in life when we just want to make a fist and raise our middle finger (the famous comb).An icon that can give us a lot of play. Other icons have also been included, such as the Star Trek greeting. Along with these emoticons, WhatsApphas included various features to improve the functionality of the messaging app.
From now on, users will be able to set custom notifications for each contact. In this way, we can hear a specific tone for our friends or partner and know who the message came from before checking the notification on WhatsApp. To activate this function, the first thing we have to do is go to our personal chat with a user. Then, we press on the button with the three points placed vertically in the upper right part. Among the available options, click on "View contact". Just below the Notifications submenu we are interested in the feature "Custom notifications" . In the new window that appears we can choose a particular notification tone and set the vibration mode each time we receive a message. In case it is an important contact, we can also decide that the notification is displayed through a pop-up window. In addition, in case the mobile can display LED of different colors we will have the option to customize the color of the notifications.
The other main change within the WhatsApp app is to mark messages in a conversation as read without having to enter the chat. This function is useful for those conversations in which many messages accumulate that we do not intend to read at the moment.
