How to optimize the screen of your smartphone or tablet to read books
If you are used to using your smartphone or tablet to read long texts (for example on web pages) or electronic booksdirectly on your device, you've probably noticed how your eyes get sore after a while in front of the screen. A problem that, for example, does not occur when we are facing the screen of an e-reader. There is an intermediate solution in the form of an app that can help you a lot in your reading of books and texts on a mobile or tablet AndroidIts name is Light blue filter, it is available for free in the Google store and it will allow us to add a custom filter to reduce the blue light on the panel. We will tell you how this tool works.
Light Blue Filter is available for free in the Google Play store But here we have one of the few weak points of the app . If we want full functionality, it is advisable to also download Light Blue Filter – Night Mode. This second app is only a complement to increase the percentage of blue light that we raise to a maximum of 95%, while with the original application you can only reach 80%.It is not very clear why the company has separated these two applications and it can be annoying to have an extra icon (which as such is of little use).
But leaving this matter aside, Light Blue Filter brings us a simple way to reduce the emission of blue light on your mobile, which is the main cause of our eyes getting tired after looking at the screen for long periods of time. To do this, a filter is created that "colors" the screen. By default, the filter used is «Natural», which leaves us with a sensation similar to that of being in front of an electronic ink screen. We also have four other types of filters: yellow, brown, red and black. As always, it's a matter of taste and what works best for each user, although the natural filter option is the most recommended.
In any of the cases, we can manage the percentage of opacity that is most comfortable for us between 0% and 95% ( in the case of having installed the app Light blue filter – Night mode).Another interesting option is to manage the filter directly from the notification panel of the phone or tablet. We can choose several options. On the one hand, always see the filter so that just click on it to activate or deactivate it It can also be displayed when the filter is activated or when the filter is disabled. And if we don't want this app to bother us, we have the option to always hide it. The last of the settings allow us to activate the filter at system startup and show the title of the app in the filter. This last option will be activated automatically after a while, unless we buy the paid version of the app (whose cost is 1 euro).
