This could be the new look of YouTube for Android
It seems that in Google they don't know how to sit idly by, and only when we've gotten used to using one of their tools, they renew it from top to bottom with a new visual aspect This is what has happened with the video tool of YouTube , which after three months with its design along the lines Material Design prepared for Android 5.0, has started testing a new style based on the tabs and not so much on the dropdown.
In this way the style hamburger or hamburger with which the drop-down menu on the left area of the screen that was located created by layers, gives way to a layout where you can quickly navigate between sections simply by sliding your finger to the left or right, or by clicking on the different tabs at the top. A more agile process that once again changes the appearance of this video application that continues to evolve.
Apparently, at the moment Google would only be testing this new design with a few users. According to the media Android Police, only some would have received the new look of YouTube without prior notice nor the application update.Something that encourages one to think that it is a experiment before taking it effectively to the majority of users, if this new aspect is accepted.
Despite keeping the lines of Material Design with strong colors and pure minimalism , it's the tabs that get all the attention in this change. And, instead of displaying a menu full of options, there are now only four main sections in this new design. On the one hand, there is the main one, Home, supplanting the current What to see, with recommendations and video proposals. In Trending the user can find out which videos are succeeding With Subscriptions it is possible to review the new videos of those channels that are followed Finally there would be user's profile where you can find many other options such as uploaded videos, history, etc
This design change does not mean losing sections and features, but reordering them Thus, in the images filtered by those users who have had access to this version, it is possible to see subsections in the different tabs. Barely noticeable due to the extreme minimalism that does not indicate buttons, but shows the clean text on the background This is the case of the section music within Home, which allows you to jump to exclusively musical content on this platform. An intelligent way of reordering all the options and sections available to the user in a new system of tabs that is more agile and with a renewed appearance.
There is currently no official confirmation from Google that this will be the new predominant look. And it may be that it is a mere test that does not lead anywhere. Of course, betting on what we have seen, it seems that it could speed up the use of this video application, hiding some sections to the tab they belong to and making everything more dynamic. We will have to wait for more details on this
