Climatology
The company Microsoft has surprised after the publication of its own weather information application for the platform Android A most curious tool due to its visual appearance and operation, and which allows users from all over the world to consult various weather features from anywhere. A tool that, on the other hand, is a mere experiment on the part of the Microsoft research team , so for the moment it may be incomplete or not very functional
In Climatology the regular user of weather information applications can certainly feel lost. And it is that it is a very different tool from what has been seen to date. In fact it still looks like an unfinished application or one that points more towards experimentation than towards being a fully functional tool, at least for the moment. And it is that it has three unique sections where you can choose the place on the map to consult, the date that you want to know and, finally, the data about the possibilities of rain, temperature or sun
Just install and start it to see the main screen of Climatology divided into the three large commented sections. However, it does not show the user's location at first, so it is necessary to click on this section and access the mapamundi to navigate to that region that you want to consult. In this case it is interesting to be able to consult places that are going to be visited to know average data for the area. Of course, the navigation is quite clumsy by not incorporating the pinch gesture, so it is necessary to double-click on an area to enlarge the map and wait to charge to move around it.
The second section of Climatology is the date section. And it is an application focused on forecasts on a more general scale That is why you can know the average data of the different months of the year, but without specifying by hours or days. A mere approximation to make an approximate calculation according to the date of a trip or an event You just have to scroll to the left or right to choose the data from one month or another .A negative point is that the names of the months appear in English
Finally, the lower section of the screen shows the resulting data of the previously selected criteria. Specifically, it is possible to know the average temperature of the area shown in a bar, according to that month. It is also possible to click on the raindrops to show the average of the number of days that it rains or, on the sun, to know the average number of sunny days that usually occurs in that month in the previously selected area. Something that is notably far from the symbols and conveniences of other applications Its last function is to be able to share a screenshot through other tools.
In short, an application that surprises for coming from Microsoft, but even more so for not being a tool to use.Of course, we must not lose sight of the fact that this is an experiment by the team Microsoft Research The application Climatology is fully available free through Google Play
