How to already have the latest version of Gmail
A few days ago Google announced an update to its email manager header, Gmail , which contains an interesting new feature: Message images are displayed automatically. The change is due to Google has changed the method of displaying photos. Before we had to authorize if we wanted to see the content, but now the company will host the images on their own proxy servers to make sure there are no nothing that could compromise the security of the device. From now on users will not have to click on the button «Show images» if they want to see the photos of their received messages. Although Google announced the arrival of this novelty, for the moment they have not released the update on Google Play but thanks to Android Police You can now have it on your smartphone or tablet Android
The Android Police team has investigated inside the APK packageand have not found any additional changes beyond automatic uploading of photos. This new function is activated by default, but if you do not want to see the photos of the messages you receive, you can deactivate it from Settings by choosing the option "Ask me before showing" from the Images sectionThis improvement is already available in the version of Gmail for computers and the update has just appeared, but as we said it has not been released globally. The arrival on Android smartphones and tablets could take several days, but if you can't wait there's already a way to install Gmail 4.7 .2 safely on your device,we'll tell you how to do it.
1) Even if the package APK is Google original, as it has not been published on Google Play our device interprets it as an unknown source. In order to install it, we must first access Settings and go down the menu to the option Security Inside In the sub-menu we will find a box called "Unknown sources",we check it and we will have to accept a message that warns us of possible dangers.Again, we insist that the package is original and does not pose any danger.
2) Once we have the device ready, open the browser and download Gmail 4.7.2from the following link (posted on Android Police).
APK Gmail 4.7.2
3) The file will be stored in the Downloads sectionfrom the terminal, but you will see that if you try to open it, it gives an error. The reason is that we need an APK file installer in order to run the process. In the Google Play store there are plenty of free options, in our case we have used Apk Installer.
4) Open the installer and go to the folder “Downloads ” to locate the file.Once we have it, we must click on it and the process will begin. Before installing a screen appears with the description of the update and the permissions, although we will see which does not require any new ones.
5) When you finish installing we will have the new version of Gmail operational. Finally, for greater security, we can go back to Settings – Security and remove the installation permission for unknown sources.
