Although the console has not yet been released for sale, Sony has already started the machinery of preparations prior to the presentation.The company has launched its new official app for the PlayStation 4 in the official stores of Android and Apple iOS. This new service will allow users to enjoy certain advantages and even use their smartphone or tablet as a complement to the console.
The official application is called PlayStation®App and it is free , however is still not available for download in Spain, but it will be when the console arrives in our stores on day 29 November. In any case, it is a service designed to be used exclusively with this product, therefore it does not allow actions without us having the console and it is logical that they will not launch it until the PS4 is on sale. Both platforms, iOS and Android, offer it for both smartphones and tablets and seek to expand the experience of using games and also other services.
To begin with, it will allow us to access our PlayStation Network account and consult information about friends, trophies and more. For example, we can see what our friends are playing, compare the list of trophies and see the most recent activity. The application also offers the possibility of showing us the notifications that we are receiving, as well as making changes to the profile, for example the avatar. One of the most interesting features of the application is its ability to be used as a keyboard in chat sessions, a much more comfortable way of typing without having to use a special accessory or the awkward on-screen system through the DualShock controller.
PlayStation®App also offers the possibility of making purchases and downloading games or applications directly on the PS4. This function is very practical if we are not near the console at that moment, if we download a game it can be ready when we arrive and thus avoid waiting. However, there is another very interesting feature, that of being able to use the device as a second screen in certain games that will allow different handling and options that complement the experience.
As we said, the PlayStation 4 will arrive in Spanish stores on November 29 and it is expected that the application for Android and iOS be available a few days before launch. Sony's new console is renewed with a much higher graphic power, a redesigned control that includes a touch panel and also very interesting functions such as the second screen through the PS Vita.
