How to sync Outlook.com emails on Android
Finally Microsoft has given in, and it has taken a long time. And it is that those of Redmond have given free rein to be able to use their Outlook email servicethrough the different applications or email clients that we have at our disposal. Or what is the same, for the most knowledgeable, they have enabled their EAS (Exchange ActiveSync) protocol to be able to synchronize our messages through our terminal, being able to do without of the official application of Hotmail, the only and belated creation by Microsoft to be able to manage this issue.
With this authorization, for example, users of smartphones and tablets with operating system Android can receive, write, delete and sortall your messages through the application Email, which can collect the main email accountsBelow we explain, step by step, what to do to enjoy everything that Outlook has to offerin our usual email application.
1.- Start the application Email of our terminal
2.- If you don't have any previous account, just enter your username and password If you want to use this application to enter the Outlook in addition to the ones you already have, just go to the accounts menu and press to add a new one
3.- We introduce our email address and password in their respective sections.
4.- Select the option Manual Configuration.
5.- When asked What type of account? we must select the third option: Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
6.- We come across the screen Exchange server settings.
In section Domain: username we must fill in our email address . Except if we only see writing Domain, in which case we will leave the blank.
Fill in the password if it is not already entered automatically.
In the section Exchange Server write the following: m.hotmail.com
Select the option Use secure connection (SSL) and press the button next , leaving the second option (certificates) deactivated.
7.- We configure the different aspects of our new account. Here we can set the amount of emails that we want to synchronize in the application, the frequency synchronization, activate notifications when new messages arrive, synchronizecalendar, etc.
8.- After this, all that remains is to press the button Next to have our email account Outlook active, with notifications and messages synchronized on our Android.
All this without the need to install an application for each email account that we have, being able to manage them all from the same tool andswitch between one and the other with the menu Accounts Also, remember that the application native or serial email from Android, call Email, has the utility of a unread message counter in the upper corner of its icon. A service that, although it does not have the design and functionalities of Gmail, it can serve us well to have everyone our emails always at hand
