Use icons to see pop-up notifications
Do you already have your system to deal with notifications? If you have a lot of messaging apps and so on, you probably miss some important notifications.
To solve this problem, you can use the “Smart pop-up view” function, which you will find in Settings >> Advanced functions.
Every time you receive a notification from a certain app, you will see a floating icon on the screen, as you see in the image. And once you select it, a small pop-up window opens to respond from any section of the mobile. Of course, if you want you can expand it to have the app in full screen.
It is not a dynamic that is useful for all apps, but you can activate it temporarily for certain important notifications.
Adjusts the screen size for one-handed operation
Use of the possibilities offered by One UI is to adjust the size of a virtual screen to operate the mobile with one hand.
To activate this option, go to Settings >> Advanced Features >> One-handed operation. You just have to activate this option and choose which method you prefer to reduce the size of the screen: gesture or using the start button, as you see in the image.
So when you need to use the mobile with one hand, use the method you chose and you will have control over the size of the screen.
Use gestures to call or message your contacts
Do you want to call a contact without complicating yourself with so many clicks in the process? Then activate this Samsung function:
- Go to Settings and scroll to Advanced Settings
- Select Motions and Gestures and activate the option "Swipe to call / send sms".
Once you have activated this option, the dynamics to call or send a message to any contact is very simple. Just go to your contact list, and swipe left to call or right to send a message. Simple and practical.
And if you think that this method can get you in trouble, since it can cause you to contact someone accidentally, deactivate it and that's it.
Show pending notification alerts in apps
Do you want to see all the notifications that you have pending without going through the top bar? You can do this by activating the option "Icon alerts in apps" that you find within the notifications section.
This function shows on the icon of each app the number of notifications available, as you see in the second image. A very visual way to know if you have pending messages.
This feature presents you with several options to configure the style of the alerts. You can specify that the number of pending notifications be shown, just an orange dot to catch your attention or give you the plus of showing all messages just by clicking on the app icon.
Access notifications from anywhere on the screen
If the screen of your Samsung mobile is too large, it will be difficult for you to access the notification bar with just one hand. But it is a problem that has an easy solution.
Just go to Settings >> Home Screen and choose “Swipe down for notifications”. Once you activate this option, you can lower the notification bar by sliding down from anywhere on the screen. A method suitable for using the mobile with one hand.
Add gifs to the lock screen
If you have used Always On Display you will know that you have many configurations to customize the lock screen. You can add different clock styles, add widgets, shortcuts, notifications, etc.
And you can also give it your personal touch by adding some of your favorite GIFs and adding a little color to the lock screen. For this, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings >> Lock screen and turn on Always On Display.
- Press for options and choose Clock style
- Scroll to the type of clock you see in the image
- Select GIF to view Samsung's collection
And if you don't like the GIF options available, you can add your own images from the gallery.
Improves the touch sensitivity of the screen
If your mobile no longer has the screen protector that Samsung provides, you will find yourself in the difficult task of finding an option that does not affect touch sensitivity.
If it has already happened to you, don't worry, you can try to improve it with this little trick:
- Go to Settings >> Display
- And turn on the Touch Sensitivity option
It is an option that is exclusively intended to give extra tactile sensitivity when using screen protectors.
Have your favorite camera modes always at hand
If you like taking pictures, this is a trick that you cannot miss. The Samsung Camera app has many options to customize and adjust the functions to your dynamics.
And one of the essential options to not lose any important capture is to have your favorite camera modes always at hand. A configuration that you can customize from the Camera app by following these steps:
- Open the Camera app and scroll through the Modes until you get to “More”, as you can see in the image.
- When you choose the pencil icon you will have the option to move each Camera Mode to the location you want.
And of course, it is a configuration that you can change as many times as you want.
Lock the home screen layout
Has it happened to you that you lend your mobile and they return it to you with the home screen changed? So that this does not happen, you can activate a small trick so that the design of the home screen cannot be modified.
To do this, go to Settings >> Home screen >> Lock home screen layout. Once you activate this option, no one will be able to delete or change the position of the elements that make up the screen. And when you want to modify it, just follow the same steps to disable the option momentarily until you make the changes on the screen.
Use gestures for screenshots
What methods do you use to capture screenshots on your Samsung mobile? While we can use the button combination, there is an easier way to take screenshots.
Just slide the palm of your hand (in any direction) on the screen and you will have your screenshot. To use this gesture, you just have to activate the option from Settings >> Advanced Functions >> Movements and gestures >> Swipe palm to capture, as you see in the image.
