The LG G8 is just around the corner. The South Korean company will present its flagship during the Mobile World Congress. At least that's what the rumors say. The LG G8 will arrive with a new design and new specifications. But we wanted to write down 10 new features that we would like to see in the company's device. Some of these arise based on the rumors of the terminal. These are the 10 functions.
Double screen
Rumors say that the LG G8 could come with the possibility of attaching another screen. In this way, we would obtain a flexible and modular mobile. The truth is that it is not a bad idea, as long as it is implemented correctly and the system adapts. A second screen that allows us to use the device in tablet mode to watch videos. It would be curious a pin mechanism to attach this second screen, something similar to what tablets have to put keyboard covers, for example.
Goodbye to the notch
A 'drop-type' notch wouldn't be bad on LG's next phone.
The notch is a fad. This has been confirmed by manufacturers such as Honor or Samsung, who are already betting on an on-screen camera mechanism, or even sliding, like the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. The LG G8 should add a screen without notch. Well, by adding a slide mechanism or via a camera directly on the screen. Unfortunately, rumors claim a notch of 'drop type' That is, with a drop shape where only the lens will be located, placing the speaker for calls in the upper area. At least we avoid the big notch.
5G model
The leaks have also talked about a 5G model. However, this would arrive at the end of the year, and not with the presentation of the LG G8. We would like to see a model with 5G connectivity, as Samsung will do with its Galaxy S10. 5G promises faster speeds and better integration into the internet of things.
4 main cameras
The LG V40 and its triple camera
The LG V40 has a triple main camera. Why not 4 on the LG G8? It is not the first device to implement it, of course, but it would be more than interesting to see 4 main lenses. We already know that lG likes the wide angle, the 2x zoom and… Why not a 3D sensor? In this way we can take pictures with depth of field and use the sensor for games or augmented reality. I do not know, think about it.
On-screen speaker
Again, a feature based on rumors. The LG G7 ThinQ is one of the terminals with the best sound. In the analysis that we publish in Tuexperto we talk in detail about the audio of this terminal. The LG G8 could include something similar, but with a speaker directly on the screen. The audio would expand through the terminal like a soundboard, making the audio much more immersive and improving the experience in games or when consuming multimedia content.
In-screen fingerprint reader
Of course, if we talk about the speaker on the screen, we also want a fingerprint reader on the panel. It would not be the first: OnePlus, Xiaomi, Huawei and soon Samsung. An LG G8 with an on-screen scanner wouldn't be bad at all. Of course, without sacrificing facial unlocking, since it has proven in recent months to be a fast and very accurate method.
More versions of LG G8
LG usually releases versions of the G family, but in this case we mean different versions. It would be something similar to what Samsung does with the Galaxy S family. We would like to see different versions of the LG G8 (LG G8 Mini or Lite, LG G8 Plus…). In this case, that the technical specifications, such as the processor, RAM or camera are not changed. But the screen size does, for example. Or autonomy. In this way, the user can choose the device that best suits their needs without sacrificing technical specifications.
RAM is important
It is very likely that the LG G8 will arrive with 6 GB of RAM. This is being the standard in high-end mobiles, and although there are still terminals that still have 4 GB of RAM, even the mid-range ones continue to increase the memory. That is why we would like to see a more powerful version of the LG G8, with up to 12 GB of RAM. A special edition for the most gamers and those who can get a lot out of it. Okay, 12 GB of RAM may be a bit exaggerated, but an 8 GB version for a little more price would not be bad at all.
More autonomy
It is undoubtedly one of the weak points of the LG G7 ThinQ. The autonomy of the device is not in the average of the high range. We demand a better battery from the LG G8, of at least 4,000 mAh so that it is in the middle of the high-end terminals. We would also like to see a great optimization in software with different autonomy saving modes. Of course, without sacrificing fast and wireless charging.
The LG G7's battery is somewhat lacking.
In true Google style
LG's interface is undoubtedly one of the most complete on the market, striking and with very interesting features. In the LG G7 ThinQ we have seen how the company gradually incorporated the Google functions into its smartphone, even in hardware, adding a key for the Google Assistant. The LG G8 would be the step for the implementation of Android Stock. The pure interface of Google; with its own services, applications, animations and update support. Come on, what's called Android One.
What feature would you add to the LG G8?
